Drag Racing

Filed under: Family — Nathan @ 12:33 am

Ben and I went to the drag races yesterday with Pa Pa Bobby. We had a blast (no pun intended). Even with the headphones I think the first couple of rounds startled Ben. We met up with a coworker of mine and his daughter. She and Ben had a great time watching the races and walking around the cars. We were able to get relatively close to a few cars and the paint jobs were incredible. I think Ben’s favorite was the one painted like an alligator.

I took a few pictures with my phone. I apologize for the bad quality.

We ended up leaving a bit earlier than planned because there was a nasty wreck near the end of the last Pro Mod session. An ‘06 GTO rolled near the end of his run. It was getting late and we decided that if we left now we would be able to miss all the traffic and get home at a reasonable hour. Ben was asleep before we got on the highway. The only time he’s stopped talking about his race cars all weekend has been to play with the rabbits.

Did I mention that Amy got 3 rabbits? She’s scheduling Easter/Spring photo sessions right now and we are “temporarily” housing some rabbits for the photos. If you are interested get a hold of her soon. She keeps telling me that we’ll get rid of them as soon as she’s done but I have a sneaking suspicion that one or more of them will be permanent residents of the Anderson household. She’s given them names. Ugh.

Future Lance

Filed under: Family — Nathan @ 9:52 am

This weekend Ben rode his new bike a little over 2 miles. That’s pretty impressive for a 3 year old. And when we got home he wanted to keep riding. I think it’s only a matter of time before I take off the training wheels. The funniest part is that our driveway and sidewalk are covered with little skid marks. He rides really fast, hits the brakes and looks behind himself to see how long the skid mark is. What a typical little boy.

Ben's new bike.

And to top off the joy, Amy won the 2005 Woman of the Year award in HCWIB
